The Certified Nursing Assistant cares for residents under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse or a licensed practical/vocational nurse. This role assists residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), ensures a safe and comfortable environment, and supports licensed nursing staff in delivering individualized care in accordance with regulatory requirements and facility policies.

Responsibilities:
The essential functions of this position include the following. This list is not intended to be exclusive or exhaustive. There may be additional essential functions based on the unique nature of the position or environment.
Provide direct resident care, including assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, incontinent care as applicable, oral hygiene and feeding.
Measure and record vital signs, weight, percentage of meal consumed intake/output as directed.
Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and position using proper body mechanics and lift equipment as applicable.
Respond promptly to call lights, resident needs, and changes in condition; report observations to licensed nursing staff.
Support residents’ independence and dignity, while ensuring safety and comfort
Maintain accurate and timely documentation and in accordance with facility procedures
Follow infection control, safety, and universal precaution guidelines at all times.
Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a positive living environment
Maintains a clean, safe and comfortable environment
Provides postmortem care
Contributes to the residents’ assessment (MDS/CAA’s) and the plan of care.
Education and/or Experience:
High School Graduate/GED
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant in good standing with the certification board or is a graduate of a state approved nursing assistant training program and passed a state approved competency examination (written and skills) within 120 days of employment; name entered into state nurse aide registry.
Minimum Qualifications:
Computer skills are required.
Meets all state and federal criminal background check requirements.
